5 Things in Toledo You Need to do Before Summer Ends

Fall in Toledo is in the air, but there is still time to add these things to your Summer Bucket list!

#5 Visit one of the Toledo Metroparks

In 2016, Toledo was ranked by U.S. News and World Report as Most #2 Fun Place to Live for Outdoor Lovers. This could not be possible without the Toledo Metroparks. Toledo has over 15 Metroparks comprised of 6,000+ acres, 50 miles of biking trails, rivers, hiking trails, and campsites. Pictured above, Downtown Toledo's first Metropark, The Middlegrounds opened this past September and has breathtaking views! Middleground Metropark also features an off-leash dog area and kayak rentals. Keep your eyes open for more Metroparks opening in 2017-2018.

#4 Stroll through the Village on Adams

The Village on Adams (VOA) is located in Toledo's UpTown neighborhood. VOA contains Ohio's first open refreshment area comprised of over 15 bars, restaurants, and local shops. Village on Adams is also known for hosting events like Ohio's largest zombie bar crawl with 12,000+ attendees. You can also take in some amazing local artwork and the famed "Toledo Loves Love" wall.

#3 Watch the Sunset from Cullen Park

Toledo's Point Place Neighborhood may be the best kept secret in our region. Located at the mouth of the Maumee River, Point Place is home to Cullen Park, which has magnificent views of Lake Erie. Walk all the way out to the arm of the park for an unforgettable sunset. Bring hiking shoes for this one!

#2 Discover over 750 Species at The Toledo Zoo and Aquarium

The Toledo Zoo and Aquarium is frequently ranked in the top 5 zoos in the USA.  In 2015, The Aquarium went under a 25 million dollar renovation adding a touch tank and Pacific Reef Crest exhibit. The Toledo Zoo also hosts the Lights Before Christmas which was recently ranked #1 in America by U.S. News and World Report.

#1 Catch a Mud Hens Game from The Hensville Rooftop

Feel on top of the world while watching a Mud Hens game from the rooftop of Fleetwoods Taproom. The 2 rooftops in Hensville will give you the best view in the park! Hensville entertainment district opened in late 2015 and features a concert park, shops, and restaurants. I'll let the view speak for itself.
